INTERMEDIARY

Man is a trinity, comprising spirit, soul and body. The soul is the intermediary between the spirit and the body. Of the two, whichever the soul teams up with determines the overcomer. 'Whereithal shall a young man cleanse his way? By taking heed thereto according to thy word. With my whole heart have I sought thee: O let me not wander from thy commandments? Thy word have I hid in my heart, that I might not sin against thee' (Ps 119:9-11).

Another name for soul or mind is heart. Whenever the soul of a man cooperates with his spirit, there is a miracle. The woman with the issue of blood is a case in point. Her spirit recognized the healing power of Jesus Christ and her soul agreed. At this point they decided to go to meet Jesus and the body had no option but to take both of them there- and she received her healing!

'But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart' (Matt 5:28).

The above passage tells us that whenever the soul decides to cooperate with the body, there will be a crisis. In this case, the eyes went wild and the soul agreed and what happened? Sin. Matthew 15:19 says everything always starts from the heart. You think first before doing. If you decide to go swimming, it is your soul that takes that decision. If your body agrees, before you know it you will find yourself in the pool.

In Acts 5:1 -10, Ananias and Sapphira recognized in their spirits that they ought to contribute to the work of the Lord. Then they sold their land. After this, their soul advised that they should keep part of the proceeds. Their bodies agreed with their souls, but at the end of the day, nobody spent the money, for they both died. You have to work on your soul to bring it into line with the dictates of the spirit. Are you working on it?

Decide today to handle each of your Secular assignments as unto the Lord.

'But I say unto you, that whosoever looketh on a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." ' (Matt 5:28)
